Born in the Blue Mountains and raised in Sydney’s Eastern beaches, Joel Bennetts began his culinary career at the ripe age of 15. It was apparent to Joel that his passion lay within food from a young age, spending hours in the kitchen with his late mother experimenting with recipes. Now, 15 years later, a passion that grew in his childhood home has taken him to some of Sydney’s best restaurants such as Three Blue Ducks and Pier, and seen him consulting globally.
A firm believer in the art of simplicity, Joel is known for his minimalistic approach to cooking, creating approachable recipes that hero local produce. In doing so, and alongside his passion for photography, he has engaged a cult following on social media over the years, creating content that showcases achievable recipes for home cooks without compromising on flavour. Joel launched a cookbook in September of 2022, FOOD BY JOEL BENNETTS, with over sixty recipes that represent a journey into his life of food, travel, photography and uncommon experiences.
